Hello everyone. 🙂  I hope you all have been enjoying your summer thus far.  It’s hard to believe it’s almost over!  Say it ain’t so!  Well, unfortunately…it is soon winding down & the kids will be going back to school soon.  Bummer!  No, worries…I have some last-minute vacation spots that may help cheer you up. 🙂

 

Hawaii Trip

Aloha! No one can resist the beautiful sandy beaches of beautiful Hawaii… Check out these deals & jump on it before they get away 🙂

 

Florida Trip

The land of Mickey Mouse & Shamu, never really has an “off” season, but hotel rates are often around their lowest points of the year at the end of the summer. The reason? With schools nearly back in session, very few families are taking the kids to the Magic Kingdom in August or September. The result? Shorter lines at popular attractions & savings of as much as 50% on Orlando hotels and entertainment.  Yay for you! 🙂

 

The Caribbean

Got calypso? If summer tanning didn’t pan out, there’s still time. Resorts across the Caribbean and Mexico’s East Coast are offering savings of 50% or more this time of year, as “hurricane season” keeps travelers away. Armed with travel insurance, however, sun-seekers can score a great last-minute deal for all-inclusive resorts and luxury getaways. Also, great fares to Puerto Rico and vacation deals to popular spots such as the Bahamas, Dominican Republic and the Cayman Islands.

 

The Rockies & Southwest

Postcard-perfect views, luxury resorts, top-rated golf courses and spas … the Western U.S. has a lot to offer, and for savvy  travelers, now’s the time to go! You’ll find Arizona resorts looking to lure back visitors after a hot summer and Colorado resorts attempting to fill room nights before ski season starts. In a few months, prices will double or triple at these resorts.

Fun Friday – How Rad Is Your Dad? Great Father’s Day Gift Ideas

Mother’s Day is over…now it’s Dad’s turn!  Woo-Hoo!  Ok, now we know that no two Dads are the same, but I’ve come across a few ideas & gadgets that I think most Dads will give the ‘Thumbs Up’ 🙂

 

 

1)  Helping Dad Organize

Do you remember that pile of tools & stuff that’s all over the garage or shed out back?   You know what I’m talking about… 😉  You can purchase some great shelving & storage containers at your local Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Lowes, Sears store…etc.  Get the kids involved. Everyone can pitch in to help dad’s work space look like a true, Handy-Man Professional! Get a new tool set to go in the organized space, if he doesn’t have one or if the old ones are shot.  Even if he did attach the handlebars on your bike backwards…it’s worth the effort 🙂

 

2)  I Feel The Need, For Speed!

Whoa!  Look at this baby right here…Need I say more?   Please, guys…do NOT break the computer screen in attempt to grab this mower 🙂  I am sure you will have NO problem getting dad to mow the lawn with this cool ride! Again, you can shop around for one similar at your local Home Depot, Lowes, etc.  Okay, Ok…to be fair, SOME guys are not really into the mower thing…& maybe this would be a bit much for some dads…no worries.  You can hire a lawn service company for the month (or for just a few weeks), to give dad a break…or, you can just get the kid next door 😉

 

3)  Stylin’ Dad

How about taking dad to the mall?  Or, to his favorite sports store to get his favorite jersey? I know we’re all familiar with the typical “tie” as a traditional Father’s Day gift, but it’s time to help dad spruce up!  Don’t just get the tie; get him a nice shirt or a sports jacket to go with it. And, if you really want to go all out, an entire outfit!  If you chose casual wear, how about throwing in a nice new set of golf clubs too!  Now, if things are tight, you can always improvise & just get one simple item that you think dad would appreciate, like a new sports watch, pair of shoes…etc. Or, you can just get him the tie 😉

 

4)  Fit For A King

There are always other, more practical ways you can express to dad, just how loved he is. For instance, you can prepare his favorite dishes & sweets. For meat eaters…let the pigs fly!  Fire up the grill, better yet, let HIM fire up the grill, (most dads prefer that 🙂 )   If you don’t have one, buy him a new grill!  Take him out to his favorite restaurant or sports event, (if you planned ahead of time) to a show or movie of his choice.  Or, simply just let him watch the game on TV, spend the day fishing, or, just NAP ALL DAY long. NO, To-Do-List, NO, mediating between the kids, just a day of peace & rest, allowing him to just…BE.   Now, that’s relaxing 😊

 

5)  Keep It Simple

For some families, most of the suggestions above may not be feasible. Ok, I got it covered. Give him you!  Yes, ALL of you make possible the awesome day we celebrate Dads to begin with!  So make the cards/gifts out of paper if you prefer…& the tie. 🙂 All of the fancy grills, tools & gadgets in the world, CANNOT compare to the Hugs, Kisses, Respect & LOVE that only a Family can give.

“I spy with my little eye”… there’s nothing like a good game of clue, or a scavenger hunt. Kids love the chance to look for various treasures & prizes with a few fun clues to lead them.  It’s an amazing way to create a fun activity for all to participate in, & can be used to create healthy competition between campers.

 

Rope Swings

This is an oldie, but a goodie form of fun. Rope swings have been around forever, but I assure you, the fun remains the same! Usually, you can also increase or decrease, this ultra-thrilling experience to fit your liking, by using different platform heights to swing high over bodies of water ending in a safe yet thrilling splash!

 

Mega Slip-N-Slide

A mega slip n slide isn’t like any other slip n slide you’ve seen before. You can transform any hill or steady slope from ordinary to extraordinary, by adding tarps and other slick materials. (within safety measures) This slip n slide can be as long and as wide as desired which ensures maximum fun for campers.

Now, this is for the brave! Extreme caution goes without saying with this sport, but if done safely…is nothing short of a blast!  Thrill seekers travel all over the world to take part in zip lining experiences. Zip lines are a great way to see the campground’s surroundings. This is a surefire way to get campers involved and ready for an exciting ride. 🙂

 

Horseback Riding

I’ve always been a great fan of horses growing up myself, so this would be an amazing adventure for most kids.  Horseback riding is a great way to experience the outdoors & ones own surroundings. Interacting with animals in a hands on way makes horseback riding a unique way to experience nature.

There’s nothing that says, ‘I love you’ more than a thoughtful gift!  Here are some great gift ideas that I’m sure any mom would appreciate 😊

We all know most women LOVE anything that has some bling!  This is a great time to pick out cute little bracelets or necklaces, or whatever little trinket you think she’ll like. And don’t just stop there…personalize it! Go the extra mile & put her name on it, or say something that’s cute & sentimental, it’s sure to make her smile 🙂

 

 

2) Breakfast in Bed

Now, it doesn’t necessarily have to be in bed, she is allowed to come sit at the table if she prefers!  The point is, it’s her turn to be served. Prepare for her the breakfast, lunch & dinner of champions! Whip up her absolute favorites. You’re allowed to get some help with this, just order in if no one else is that good of a cook. Or, if she prefers, take her out to eat….just make sure she’ll be stuffed with culinary delight!  

 

 

3) Spa Day

Ahh….just the sound of that sounds relaxing!  What better way to melt away the worries of the world than a spa day!  A day of nothing but soothing baths, massages & pampering!  Even if you can’t afford to send mom to an ‘official spa’ you can give her a day of pampering right at home, with her favorite bath salts, relaxing music, & peace & quiet.

 

 

4) Flowers

What mom doesn’t love flowers? Beautiful roses of various colors, orchids, lilies, or whatever flowers she likes will always be a winner.  If mom is allergic, no problem, there’s nothing like a home-made craft project of love! Cut out a variety of floral patterns in different sizes & shapes with colored paper.  Add felt, glitter…or the fabric of your choice.  There are various materials you can use to create the perfect floral bouquet, even balloons! This for sure won’t make her sneeze. 🙂 

 

5)  Family! ❤ ❤

It wouldn’t be Mother’s Day for any mom, without the rest of the family.  Hopefully, everyone will be on their best behavior, & will treat mom like the Queen she is! She will appreciate ALL of the love & affection that her family can give, (Everyday, would be even better) 😉  Which is really….the BEST gift. ❤
